On October 30th of this year at 6:00 PM, the Daugavpils Palace of Culture (Smil\u0161u Street 92) will host a concert performance by the Beijing Dance Academy (China) troupe \u201cOBVIOUS \u2013 IMPOSSIBLE\u201d as part of the 30th Baltic Ballet Festival.<\/p>\n
\u201cOBVIOUS \u2013 INCREDIBLE\u201d is a performance in which you will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique technique of Chinese classical ballet, magnificent costumes and the inimitable magic of light art. As the organizers of the event indicate: \u201cSince Chinese classical ballet is an emotionally and visually impressive art form that combines Western classical ballet technique with elements of Chinese culture, the performance will offer you both amazing virtuosity and technique, as well as the perfection of artistic expression.\u201d<\/p>\n
Beijing Dance Academy is Asia\u2019s most prestigious classical dance education and research platform, a leader in Chinese and global dance education since 1954. With a wide range of programs \u2013 from classical Chinese dance to ballet, choreography and musical theatre \u2013 the academy trains outstanding dancers who elevate Chinese classical ballet to the pinnacle of world cultural value, thus symbolising professionalism, cultural traditions and innovations.<\/p>\n
The origins of the Baltic Ballet Festival \u201cFrom Classic to Avant-garde\u201d can be traced back to 1996. At the initiative of the festival director Lita Beiris, this year for the 30th time the Latvian audience is introduced not only to the diversity of classical ballet, but also discovers the charm and appeal of avant-garde dance. This year, the festival activities will take place from October 22 to November 10 in Riga, C\u0113sis, Ventspils and Daugavpils.
