Music is a language without borders, and on this evening it will sound as a message of solidarity, compassion, and hope. The concert “Support for Ukraine” will bring together artists of different cultures and generations who, through song, dance, and sound, will express their support for the people of Ukraine and remind us that we stand together.
The concert will feature creative groups of the Daugavpils state city municipal institution “Vienības nams”: chamber musicians of the orchestra “Daugavpils Sinfonietta” (director Renāts Cvečkovskis); the song and dance folklore group “Svārta” (director Sarmīte Teivāne); the dance ensemble “Laismeņa” and the middle-generation dance group “Laismeņa” (director Diāna Soldāne). Also performing will be creative groups of the National Cultures Centre of the Daugavpils state city municipal institution Daugavpils Palace of Culture: the Ukrainian Cultural Centre vocal ensemble “Mrija” (director Nadežda Stahovska), the Polish House vocal ensemble “Daugavas krāsas” / “Barwy Daugawy” soloist Staņislavs Jakovenko, the Staņislavs Broks Daugavpils Secondary School of Music chamber ensemble “Delicia” (director Tatjana Saratova), as well as guests from Lithuania — the Visaginas Cultural Centre Ukrainian folklore ensemble “Kalyna” (director Nataliia Osypova).
During the concert, donations can be made by scanning the QR code at the entrance to the concert hall. From 23 February to 28 February, the façade of Vienības nams will be illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
The event is organized by the National Cultures Centre of the Daugavpils state city municipal institution Daugavpils Palace of Culture in cooperation with the Daugavpils state city municipal institution “Vienības nams”. Supported by Ziedot.lv.
