On 29 May, the Rainis Centre hosted the thematic event “Violet Garden Festival”, dedicated to the legacy of the distinguished biologist Karl Reinhold Kupffer and the blooming season of violets.

Visitors enjoyed a concert featuring students and teachers of the String Instruments Department of the Stanisław Brok Daugavpils Secondary School of Music, as well as a performance by the vocal-instrumental ensemble “DEDZE.” Guests also had the opportunity to attend a talk about violets led by biologist and owner of the rural homestead Pigozes, Jolanta Bāra.

The event also featured an exhibition of reconstructed late 19th-century costumes created by the association Atmiņu lāde and Irēna Voitāne. Visitors of all ages took part in creative workshops, including flowerpot decorating, handicraft activities, and other hands-on sessions organized together with the local leisure club “Grīva.”
