Margarita Vigule’s exhibition “A Moment Between Seconds”
The exhibition invites visitors to pause amidst the rush of everyday life and notice what usually goes unnoticed — brief yet emotionally charged moments in which the tension of movement, genuine emotions, and the intensity of life are revealed.
All photographs featured in the exhibition were taken in Daugavpils, capturing the city’s people, sporting events, cultural life, and everyday rhythm. The photographs reveal the energy, emotions, and moments that shape the character of Daugavpils and create a shared sense of memory.
“What has always mattered most to me is authenticity — a living emotion, a genuine glance, and a moment without pretence. I am drawn not to perfectly staged poses, but to the natural and sincere qualities that reveal themselves effortlessly in a person,” says photographer Margarita Vigule.
Her journey into photography began while raising her children, when the desire to preserve fleeting moments of childhood gradually evolved into a deeper need to notice and capture the truth of life. She developed her path in photography through self-education — step by step, through persistence, experience, and love for her calling.
“For me, photography is a way to see, feel, and preserve with the heart. If my photographs encourage someone to pause, notice, or truly feel something important, then that is where the true meaning of what I do lies,” the artist admits.
The exhibition “A Moment Between Seconds” will be on view at the Daugavpils Palace of Culture until June 30.
