On 26 June, the courtyard of the Forstadt Cultural Space hosted the Belarusian folk festival “Kupalle”, bringing together residents and visitors of Daugavpils to celebrate Belarusian Midsummer traditions.

The concert programme featured the Belarusian creative groups of the National Cultures Centre of the Daugavpils Palace of Culture: the folk song ensemble “Kupaļinka”, the dance ensemble “Ļanok”, the vocal ensemble “Praļeski”, the amateur theatre studio “Pauļinka”, and the children’s studio “Skārbnīca”. The festive programme was further enriched by amateur art groups representing the Jewish, Russian, Lithuanian, Polish, Roma, Tatar, Ukrainian and German cultural traditions.

Visitors actively participated in creative workshops and interactive activities, weaving flower wreaths, making bouquets from meadow flowers, learning the Polotsk printing technique, enjoying herbal tea, and taking part in traditional festive games. The event took place in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, celebrating Belarusian cultural heritage and fostering intercultural dialogue in Daugavpils.
